NVDA closed at $211.75 on August 6, 2026, up 2.56% on the session, with a market cap of $5.21 trillion and a P/E of 31.65. Twenty days later, on August 26, NVIDIA releases fiscal Q2 2027 results at roughly 1:20 p.m. PT — which is 4:20 p.m. ET, twenty minutes after the NASDAQ bell. The call follows at 2 p.m. PT.

That twenty-minute detail decides more about your NVDA trade than most price targets do. The single biggest number in the AI complex lands when the exchange that lists NVDA is shut. Whoever holds NVDA exposure in a form that trades continuously reacts first; whoever holds it in a brokerage account queues behind them.

This piece covers what the print has to clear, what the options market is charging for the gap, whether the NVDA/USDT market actually tracks the stock, and how much leverage survives a move of that size.

What NVDA has to print on August 26

NVIDIA guided Q2 FY2027 revenue to about $91.0 billion, plus or minus 2%. The quarter closed July 26, 2026. Against Q1 FY2027's record $81.6 billion, hitting the midpoint means roughly 11% sequential growth on a base already north of $80 billion a quarter — the sort of demand curve that has no comparison in semiconductor history and, for that reason, no reliable playbook when it bends.

NVDA Earnings Aug 26: How to Trade the Print 24/7

Data centre revenue does the overwhelming share of the work, around 92% of the Q1 FY2027 total. Everything else — gaming, automotive, professional visualisation — is rounding error at this scale. So the print is really one question with three sub-questions attached: how fast are Blackwell systems shipping, what are gross margins doing, and who is paying for the compute.

That third one is where the stock is currently soft. Through July and early August 2026, the bear case shifted away from "demand will fall" toward "demand is circular" — the worry that AI companies are increasingly financing each other's infrastructure spending, so revenue reflects a closed loop rather than durable end-customer demand. NVDA reclaimed $210 on August 4 partly because that argument lost ground, not because anything new was proven. Management commentary on customer financing on the call will matter as much as the headline number.

Wall Street, for its part, has not blinked. Consensus targets cluster around $300–$315, implying 42–48% upside from the August 6 price. The dispersion underneath is wide: Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley at $250, Bank of America and Wedbush at $275, Melius Research at $350. When the average target sits 45% above spot and the stock still trades at 31x earnings, the market is not pricing NVDA as an expensive stock — it is pricing uncertainty about the duration of the cycle, and that uncertainty gets repriced every ninety days at 4:20 p.m. ET.

Who can actually trade NVDA when the print lands

Here is the part most earnings previews skip. Exposure to NVDA is not one instrument, and the instruments have different opening hours on the one night of the quarter when hours matter.

InstrumentOpen at 4:20 p.m. ET on Aug 26?LeverageWhat you holdMain friction
NVDA shares, regular sessionNo — NASDAQ closed at 4:00 p.m. ETNoneEquity, voting, dividendYou wait until 9:30 a.m. ET Aug 27
NVDA shares, US extended hoursYes, 4:00–8:00 p.m. ETNoneEquityThin book, wide spreads, broker limits
Tokenized NVDA (xStock-type)Yes, but 24/5 — closed weekendsNoneIssuer claim on custodied sharesTracking error, issuer and custody risk
NVDA/USDT spot on WEEXYes, 24/7NoneToken tracking NVDA priceNo shareholder rights or dividends
NVDA-USDT perpetual on WEEXYes, 24/7Up to 100xA USDT-settled contractFunding, liquidation, basis

WEEX listed the NVDA-USDT perpetual on July 2, 2026. It is USDT-margined with no expiry, so a funding rate rather than a settlement date keeps the contract tethered to its reference index — positive funding means longs pay shorts, negative means the reverse. Around a catalyst like this, funding is the tell: if it spikes hard positive in the sessions before August 26, the crowd is already long and the pain trade runs the other way.

The practical read: continuous markets do not give you better information, they give you earlier access to a thinner book. That is a real edge and a real trap. The first prints after a surprise are made against whatever liquidity happens to be sitting there at 4:21 p.m. ET, and on a large market order you will be the one paying for it.

Does NVDA/USDT actually track the stock?

This is the question that decides whether continuous access is worth anything, and it is easy to check rather than assume. On August 6, 2026, the last price on the WEEX NVDA-USDT perpetual page read 211.93 USDT. NVDA on NASDAQ was $211.75. That is a basis of about 0.09% — tight enough that the contract was, at that moment, a clean proxy.

Tokenized NVDA trackers on other venues have been less consistent. A tokenized NVDA tracker quoted around $206.19 on June 16, 2026 came with 24-hour volume of roughly $19 — not a typo, and a good illustration that a listed price and a tradable price are different things. Depth, not the quote, is what you are actually buying.

Two habits follow from that, and they are worth more than any forecast:

    • Check the basis before you size, not after. Compare the perp's mark against the last NASDAQ print. A quiet 0.1% basis says the market is functioning; a 2% basis into the close on August 26 says someone is paying a lot for immediacy and you are probably about to be the one paying it.
    • Look at 24-hour volume on the exact instrument you are trading, not the ticker in general. Volume on NVDA/USDT perps and volume on a given tokenized NVDA share almost nothing.

How much leverage survives an NVDA earnings gap

Options have priced NVDA's earnings moves at roughly 5.3% in either direction ahead of the May 2026 report, against an average implied move nearer ±8.3% historically and realised moves of about 4–4.5% across the last eight prints. Implied has run slightly rich to realised — but "slightly rich" is not "safe," and the historical range of implied moves stretches from about 6% up to 11.6%.

Turn that into position sizing. On an isolated-margin perpetual, the adverse move that liquidates you is roughly the inverse of your leverage, before fees, funding and maintenance margin — all of which make it worse.

LeverageRough adverse move to liquidationSurvives a 5.3% gap?Survives an 8.3% gap?
    100x~1%NoNo
    50x~2%NoNo
    20x~5%Only just, if at allNo
    10x~10%YesBarely
    5x~20%YesYes
    3x~33%YesYes

Figures are approximate and exclude fees, funding and maintenance-margin buffers; treat them as a ceiling, not a target.

Read the table honestly and the conclusion is uncomfortable for anyone attracted to the 100x headline: no leverage above roughly 12x reliably survives NVDA's own average implied earnings move, and that is before a gap fills through your stop. Stops are the other illusion here. In a gap, a stop is a request, not a guarantee — price can trade straight through the level and fill you materially worse. If your plan depends on the stop working at the exact price, you do not have a plan for earnings; you have a plan for a normal Tuesday.

The two structures that survive contact with a print are small size with wide invalidation, and a hedge established before the release rather than a reaction after it. WEEX's own NVDA risk-management guide works through position sizing and collars in more detail; NVDA's beta of 1.94 as of mid-June 2026 is the reason the sizing maths has to be stricter here than on a typical large cap.

Where this leaves the NVDA trade into August 26

Three things matter, in this order.

The setup is a high bar, not a low one. $91 billion in guided revenue means the market already expects excellence; the risk in the print is not that NVDA misses but that it beats and the stock falls anyway because the customer-financing question goes unanswered. That asymmetry — good number, bad reaction — is the classic way traders lose money on NVDA earnings, and it has happened before.

Access is now a choice, not a constraint. Anyone can hold NVDA exposure that trades at 4:21 p.m. ET on August 26. Whether that is an advantage depends entirely on whether you have sized for a gap you cannot exit cleanly.

Leverage is the variable you control, and it is the one most people set last. Set it first, from the implied move, then work backwards to a position size. If you want continuous NVDA exposure without that problem at all, NVDA/USDT spot removes the liquidation risk entirely — you keep the 24/7 access and lose only the leverage. For most people trading a single earnings event, that trade is worth making. If you are new to how stock tokens differ from perps, WEEX's explainer on trading NVDAUSDT on WEEX TradFi covers the mechanics before you commit capital.

    FAQ

    1. When exactly does NVDA report Q2 FY2027 earnings?

August 26, 2026. Results are expected around 1:20 p.m. PT (4:20 p.m. ET) with the conference call at 2 p.m. PT (5 p.m. ET). The quarter ended July 26, 2026.

    2. Can I trade NVDA immediately after the earnings release?

Not on the NASDAQ regular session — it closes at 4:00 p.m. ET, before the release. US extended-hours trading runs to 8:00 p.m. ET but is thin and broker-restricted. NVDA/USDT spot and NVDA-USDT perpetuals on WEEX trade 24/7, so they are open when the numbers land.

    3. How big a move does the options market expect on NVDA earnings?

Roughly 5.3% in either direction was priced ahead of the May 2026 report, against a historical average implied move nearer ±8.3%. Realised moves across the last eight prints averaged about 4–4.5%, so implied has tended to run slightly rich to what actually happened.

    4. Does the NVDA perpetual price match the real NVDA stock price?

It tracked closely on August 6, 2026 — the WEEX NVDA-USDT perp last printed 211.93 USDT against $211.75 on NASDAQ, a basis of about 0.09%. Basis can widen sharply during off-hours or around catalysts, so check it before sizing rather than assuming parity.

    5. Do I get NVIDIA dividends or voting rights from NVDA/USDT?

No. NVDA/USDT spot and NVDA-USDT perpetuals give price exposure only. You are not a shareholder of record, so there are no voting rights and no dividend entitlement — NVDA's dividend yield of 0.14% as of August 6, 2026 is immaterial to the trade either way, but the distinction matters legally.

    6. What is the NVDA analyst price target for 2026?

Consensus averages cluster around $300–$315, about 42–48% above the August 6, 2026 price of $211.75. Individual targets range from $250 (Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley) to $350 (Melius Research). Targets are opinions with a 12-month horizon, not forecasts of the August 26 reaction.

    Risk Warning

Trading NVDA exposure through tokenized stocks or perpetual futures carries risks that do not exist in a brokerage account. Prices are volatile and you may lose part or all of your capital. Leveraged perpetual positions can be liquidated by a single earnings gap — an 8% move, well within NVDA's historical range, wipes out any position above roughly 12x, and stop-loss orders may fill materially worse than the level you set when price gaps through it. Liquidity on stock-token and perpetual markets is thinner than on NASDAQ, particularly outside US market hours, so slippage on larger orders is real. Perpetuals accrue funding costs that erode a position held through a multi-day catalyst window. Tokenized stocks depend on an issuer and custodian holding the underlying shares, which introduces counterparty and tracking risk, and confer no shareholder rights or dividends.
