The Federal Police (PF) launched Operation Narco Express to dismantle a criminal scheme in Paraíba, executing eighteen court orders against a group involved in drug trafficking. The operation took place in João Pessoa, Cabedelo, and Tibau do Sul, with eleven preventive arrest warrants and seven search and seizure warrants. The court ordered the freezing of cryptocurrencies in bitcoin exchanges associated with fourteen suspects. The digital platforms are required to block the balances according to the court orders, but the PF did not disclose which ones were activated or whether there were any funds available for seizure. This measure aims to prevent the flight of illicit capital to anonymous wallets. The criminal organization cultivated marijuana in climate-controlled greenhouses and used delivery personnel to distribute the drugs. Breaking this supply chain seeks to reduce the circulation of drugs in the northeastern states. The suspects may face charges of drug trafficking, conspiracy to traffic, armed violence, and money laundering, with the blocking of bank accounts and seizure of properties as additional penalties.
