A Bitcoin wallet that had been inactive for nearly 15 years transferred its entire balance to another address on August 6, 2026. The wallet, identified by Galaxy Research, initially received 49.97 BTC on July 16, 2011. At that time, the price of Bitcoin was around $10, making the total value of these assets approximately $500. By 2026, with the price of Bitcoin nearing $65,000, the wallet's value reached $3.23 million, representing an increase of over 634,000% over approximately 15 years. The transaction occurred in block number 961331 on the Bitcoin network, where the 49.97 BTC from the old wallet was combined with small amounts from two different addresses and sent to a SegWit address as exactly 50 BTC. It was determined that the receiving address had been active for several years and was previously associated with FalconX. However, there is no on-chain evidence that the last transferred 50 BTC was sent directly to FalconX. The movement of Bitcoins that have not been transacted for many years is being closely monitored due to the potential for selling pressure in the market. However, this does not necessarily mean that the wallet owner intends to sell.
